
The 6th EDL Certificate Conferring Ceremony  was held on March 19, 2014. Six EDL graduates from the Master's Program and one  senior EDL graduate from the Doctoral Program received EDL certificates from  Prof. Kyosuke Nagata, the president of the University of Tsukuba. During the  ceremony, Mr. Sing Rajeev Kumar from Nepal gave an address on behalf of the EDL  graduates. President Nagata told graduates that the networks they built in the  university are precious and will help them to facilitate future opportunities.  He also mentioned that they must become human resources who can contribute to  solving global issues in the future. 	    EDL Wrap-up symposium was held on February 13 and 14, 2014. On the first day, this year's activities and research presentation by EDL candidates were done. On the second day, the symposium was started with an address by the President of the University of Tsukuba followed by a summary of EDL's five year activities by EDL professors. EDL graduates reported their current career. In the afternoon session, Prof. Jun Ikeda made a keynote lecture: Global Issues in Ancient Near East b, and a panel discussion: “How We Should Develop Environmental Leaders within International Framework – Towards fostering human resources to solve global issues –” was done and there were many opinions and suggestions from the panelists as well as audience.
